Iran Reveals Impact of US Strike on Fordow Nuclear Site

Ankara: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said in an interview with CBS News on Wednesday that the US bombing of Iran’s Fordow nuclear site “caused severe and devastating damage” to the facility. He added in the interview, “No one knows exactly what happened at Fordow. However, what we know so far is that the facilities sustained severe and devastating damage.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran is currently conducting an assessment and evaluation, and a report on this matter will be submitted to the government.

The Washington Post quoted four sources familiar with classified intelligence circulating within US government circles on Sunday that intercepted Iranian communications downplayed the extent of the damage caused by the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear program.

President Donald Trump said the strikes “totally and completely obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program, but US officials acknowledged that it would take time to fully assess the damage caused.
