Baghdad: Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, ways to strengthen bilateral relations, serving the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples. During his reception of the French Ambassador, al-Hakim stressed, according to a statement from his office, the importance of preserving Iraq’s sovereignty, defending its national interests, and supporting government efforts aimed at achieving this.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized that Iraq, represented by the government and political forces, has made strenuous efforts to remove threats from its territory and avoid dangerous escalation in the region. He highlighted the current state of security, political, and social stability in Iraq and expressed the country’s ongoing efforts to achieve sustainable stability that fulfills the long-awaited aspirations of its people.
Al-Hakim further explained that the upcoming elections will play a crucial role in consolidating democracy and enhancing general stability in Iraq. He described the elections as pivotal and important, representing a new founding phase for the nation.
