Baghdad: The Ministry of Health announced the destruction of more than 26 kg of narcotics and psychotropic substances at the Forensic Medicine Department in Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a statement: “The Destruction Committee examined and destroyed quantities of narcotics and psychotropic substances at the Forensic Medicine Department in Baghdad, totaling approximately 26 kg of narcotics, 5,746 narcotic pills, and two liters and 899 milliliters of liquid crystal meth.”

The destruction process was supervised by a specialized committee headed by Judge Yasser Al-Khuzai, who confirmed: “The destruction process was carried out in dedicated incinerators reaching temperatures of 1,100 degrees Celsius, ensuring the complete elimination of the substances and their transformation into ash, free of any traces.”
