Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani engaged in discussions with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, focusing on the ongoing release of additional water flows to the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. The discussions took place during a meeting aimed at addressing political and economic relations between Iraq and Turkey, along with regional and international situations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting emphasized the significance of the additional water flows, highlighting their role in mitigating drought and water scarcity issues affecting Iraq, particularly in the southern governorates. The dialogue also touched upon the development road project, underscoring its importance and the need for technical collaboration with the Iraqi government to ensure its successful initiation, supported by both the House of Representatives and the government.

Furthermore, both sides agreed to reactivate the friendship committees, fostering the exchange of expertise and visits, and maintaining open communication to address developments in the regional and international arenas.
