Baghdad: The Wasit Local Government declared a three-day mourning period for the victims of the al-Kut Hypermarket Mall fire tragedy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Wasit Governor Mohammed Jamil Al-Mayah stated, "We assure the families of the innocent victims that we will not be lenient with those who were directly or indirectly responsible for this incident. We will announce the preliminary investigation results to the public within 48 hours."

Governor Al-Mayah further mentioned, "We have filed lawsuits against the building owner, the mall owner, and everyone involved." This move underscores the government's commitment to accountability and justice for the affected families.
