Riyadh: Turkey and ten Arab countries have collectively called on the UN Security Council to fulfill its legal and moral obligations to ensure Israel's full withdrawal from occupied Syrian territories and the cessation of its hostile actions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a joint statement released on Thursday, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Egypt voiced their rejection of any foreign interference in Syria's affairs. This statement came in response to recent Israeli attacks on Damascus and other Syrian regions, justified by Israel as efforts to protect the Druze community from attacks.

The countries, in their joint declaration, condemned Israel's repeated attacks on Syria, labeling them as violations of Syria's sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law. They affirmed their unwavering support for Syria's security, unity, stability, and sovereignty.

The statement also acknowledged the agreement reached on Wednesday regarding the situation in Sweida, emphasizing the importance of its implementation. Furthermore, it welcomed Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa's pledge to hold accountable those responsible for violations against Syrian citizens in Sweida Governorate.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry highlighted that the joint statement was the outcome of extensive discussions between the Foreign Ministers of the 11 nations over the preceding two days.
