Interior Minister Suspends Civil Defense Director in Wasit Following Al-Kut Hypermarket Fire


Ankara: Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari has issued an order to suspend the Director of Civil Defense in Wasit Province, following the recent fire at a hypermarket in the city of Al-Kut. The Head of the Ministry’s Relations and Media Department, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, stated in a press release: “The decision comes as part of the administrative measures taken in response to the tragic incident, and the suspension will remain in effect until the completion of the investigation by the assigned committee.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the fire at the hypermarket has raised significant concerns regarding emergency response and safety protocols within the region.
