Amara: The Maysan Governorate Police Command has announced the closure of 26 projects in Al-Amara city center due to violations of safety requirements and the Civil Defense Law. This action is part of the first phase of a comprehensive campaign aimed at ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the closures affected commercial stores, buildings, and shopping centers that failed to comply with previous legal warnings regarding safety requirements. The statement from the Police Command, which was shared with the agency, emphasized that all the closed projects had been officially warned and had undergone all legal procedures without taking the necessary corrective actions. This led to the enforcement of the decision to protect the lives of citizens. The campaign is set to continue until its objectives are fully met.

Police Commander Major General Lafta Fakher Al-Muhammadawi has urged owners of commercial establishments, including wedding halls, restaurants, and malls, to promptly adhere to safety requirements. He emphasized that the safety of citizens remains a top priority and assured that security authorities will not hesitate to impose strict legal measures against those who violate the regulations.
