Rabat: Iraq’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, held talks in Rabat with Idriss Batach, Director of International and African Cooperation at Morocco’s National Office for Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT), in the presence of Azeddine Ismail, Advisor to the Minister of Economic Integration, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the OFPPT headquarters in Tamesna as part of Al-Asadi’s official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. During the talks, the minister stressed the importance of building strategic partnerships with leading institutions in the field of vocational training. He affirmed that the Ministry is committed to developing a training system aligned with global labor market trends, especially in light of rapid digital transformations.

Al-Asadi emphasized the need to benefit from the Moroccan experience in managing training centers and aligning their outcomes with the needs of the national economy to ensure impactful contributions to sustainable development.

The discussions also explored prospects for bilateral cooperation in vocational training and capacity-building, with a focus on exchanging expertise in promising sectors such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, and the green economy. The aim is to enhance the quality and efficiency of training programs to better meet the demands of the Iraqi labor market.
