Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has emphasized the government’s recognition of women’s value, stating that a significant portion of the government program is dedicated to empowering women.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani addressed attendees at a conference on combating violence against women, where he highlighted the esteemed status and care women receive in Islam. He noted the importance of marking the first of Safar as the International Islamic Day for Combating Violence against Women.
He further stated that efforts are underway to positively reflect on women’s roles in society. Al-Sudani mentioned that the government is actively issuing directives and recommendations for new legislation aimed at creating a supportive environment that enables women to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
