Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein engaged in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, focusing on the dialogue between Tehran and Europe and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement indicating that Fuad Hussein received a phone call from Abbas Araqchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The conversation centered on bilateral relations and strategies to enhance them, alongside exploring regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The statement revealed that the discussions also touched on the current status of talks in Turkey involving Iran and three European nations-the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. Additionally, they examined the obstacles impeding the renewal of negotiations between Iran and the United States.

Both ministers expressed deep concern over the dire humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where famine and worsening living conditions persist. They underscored the necessity of amplifying international efforts to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to the residents of Gaza and emphasized the need for coordinated positions in international platforms to support the Palestinian cause.
