Deir ezzor: Clashes erupted Friday/Saturday night between the Syrian Army and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on both banks of the Euphrates River east of Deir Ezzor, specifically in areas of the eastern countryside, such as the town of Al-Quriyah and its surroundings.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, local media sources described the clashes as intermittent and not yet widespread, with most of the conflict concentrated near the lines of contact between the two sides in areas such as Darnaj and Jisr Al-Ashara. Reports indicated that tensions have recently escalated with mutual reinforcements from both sides in the region, and the closure of some river crossings in an attempt to limit smuggling and movement between the two banks.

These confrontations occur amid repeated escalations between the two sides in the border areas east of the Euphrates, with increasing security tensions and conflicting control over some vital points. A Syrian government source commented on the ongoing negotiations with the SDF, stating that Damascus has not and will not accept the imposition of preconditions. The source emphasized that talk of refusing to surrender weapons is unacceptable, adding that using events in Sweida or the coast to justify refusing to join the state or to cast doubt on its intentions is considered reprehensible and reflects attempts to incite public opinion and distort facts.
