Baghdad: Minister of Trade Dr. Atheer Dawood Al-Ghurairi received the Serbian Ambassador to Iraq, Branislav Jejel, at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Ghurairi expressed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening ties with Serbia, particularly in sectors such as industry, technology, and investment. He highlighted the significance of exchanging expertise and exploring new opportunities that benefit both nations.
Al-Ghurairi emphasized the urgency of finalizing bilateral agreements to address investor challenges, stating the Iraqi government’s readiness to provide necessary facilities for successful joint investment projects. He also invited Serbia to participate in establishing automotive equipment manufacturing plants in Iraq and to collaborate on irrigation projects, given Serbia’s expertise in this area amid Iraq’s water scarcity issues.
The Serbian Ambassador conveyed his country’s interest in deepening cooperation with Iraq and commended the Iraqi government’s efforts to promote stability and economic growth. He reiterated Serbia’s commitment to activating bilateral partnerships that align with the aspirations of both countries.
