Basra: The head of the Million-Man Pilgrimage Committee, Minister of Interior Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, along with the head of the Supreme Security Committee in Basra Governorate, Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, conducted an inspection of the pilgrim procession at the Shalamcheh border crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the governor’s office revealed that upon arriving in Basra, the Minister of Interior, accompanied by Governor Asaad Abdul-Amir Al-Eidani, proceeded to the Shalamcheh border crossing to assess the ongoing preparations there.

The statement detailed that the inspection tour encompassed all security and service units engaged in executing the Arbaeen pilgrimage plan for Imam Hussein. This initiative is in response to the substantial influx of pilgrims entering Iraq, with daily arrivals through the crossing surpassing ten thousand, as they make their way to the holy city of Karbala.
