Basra: The Basra Criminal Court issued a death sentence against a terrorist criminal affiliated with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, who carried out a suicide bombing and two motorcycle attacks in 2011 in Basra Governorate – Khamsa Mile Area.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Supreme Judicial Council indicated that the terrorist, in collaboration with other defendants, committed this crime, which resulted in 19 martyrs and 47 others injured, including members of the security forces and civilians.

The sentence was issued in accordance with the provisions of Article 4/1 and Articles 2/1, 3, 5, and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Law No. 13 of 2005.
