Al-Safi Affirms Readiness of the Abbasid Shrine to Support Orientalists in Their Pursuit of Truth

Najaf: The Legal Custodian of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, Sayyed Ahmed Al-Safi, affirmed the Shrine’s readiness to support orientalists by providing them with the necessary sources to aid them in reaching the truth, emphasizing the importance of their role in conveying an accurate image of the East.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Safi’s remarks came during an intervention in the sessions of the scientific conference titled “The Thought of Imam Al-Hasan (peace be upon him),” held in the holy city of Najaf. His comment was made in response to a paper presented by researcher Dr. Arkan Al-Tamimi, titled “Imam Al-Hasan (peace be upon him) in the Book of the Shiites by Contemporary Orientalist Heinz Halm: A Critical Study.”

Al-Safi stated, ‘Orientalism is a vast field. Some orientalists traveled to the East to study its geography and societies, and they endeavored to transmit an objective image to their countries of the cities, rivers, and civilizations that exist in this region.’
