Rusafa Police Arrest Two Suspects for Fraud Using Fake Charity


Rusafa: Rusafa Police Command forces arrested two suspects accused of fraudulently defrauding citizens in the name of a charitable organization.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command stated in a statement: “Based on accurate information and diligent field monitoring, the First Al-Kindy Rescue Patrols were able to arrest individuals carrying out fraudulent activities in the Palestine Street area. The group was exploiting the name of a fictitious charitable organization to collect money from citizens.”



It added: “A number of fake letters and seals were seized from the suspects, in addition to five mobile phones, a seal bearing the name of the organization, five identification badges issued by the same organization, and a Visa card. The suspects and the seized items were handed over to the police station to complete the necessary legal procedures against them.”
