Diyala: Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing with Iran in Diyala Governorate has witnessed an increase in the flow of Iranian pilgrims visiting the holy shrines. A government source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing, northeast of Baqubah, witnessed an influx of more than 12,000 pilgrims coming from the Islamic Republic of Iran. They were dispatched from the central square in Diyala towards the capital, Baghdad, and from there to the holy shrines under the supervision of the Central Committee.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the flow of pilgrims through Al-Mundhiriyah crossing has increased over the past 24 hours. The source expected the numbers to double in the coming days as the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) approaches. Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing witnesses intense activity during religious pilgrimage seasons, especially the Arbaeen pilgrimage, when millions of pilgrims from Iran and other Islamic countries flock to it.
