Tikrit: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has affirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing basic services across all governorates. His media office announced the initiation of the Tikrit, Dur, and Al-Alam water supply stations project, designed to provide a capacity of 1,000 m3/hour.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani emphasized the significance of this project as part of the government’s broader strategy to ensure essential services reach the districts and sub-districts within the governorate. The initiative includes the construction of four pumping stations, strategically located to maximize efficiency and coverage. These include a 3,000 m3 capacity station in Jallam al-Bu Ajil, two stations with 2,000 m3 capacity each in Naameh and Naameh al-Hassan, and a substantial 31,000 m3 capacity station in Al-Alam al-Ma’ibaddi District. The total transmission line for the project extends over 80 kilometers.

The primary objective of this ambitious project is to provide potable water to more than 40,000 residents in the Tikrit, Al-Dour, and Al-Alam districts. Additionally, the project aims to support local farmers in these agriculturally rich areas, which is expected to boost the agricultural and economic sectors of the governorate. The initiative is also anticipated to contribute to enhanced security and stability in the region.
