Al-amara: An officer was shot in the head during an armed altercation near the Maysan Court of Appeal, situated in the center of Al-Amara. The incident involved a police lieutenant who was caught in an exchange of gunfire resulting from a heated verbal confrontation.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a security source reported that the conflict arose between a prisoner’s family and security personnel stationed in front of the Maysan Court of Appeal. The altercation escalated quickly, leading to gunfire, which left the officer, a member of the Crime Control Department, with serious head injuries.
The source further revealed that security forces swiftly secured the area and initiated an investigation into the event’s circumstances. The injured officer was promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
