Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein discussed a number of issues related to the country’s security with National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji. A Foreign Ministry statement revealed that the Foreign Minister received al-Araji to deliberate on several matters concerning national security.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Araji provided an overview of his recent visit to the Kurdistan Region, where he led a specialized investigative delegation. The focus of the visit was to investigate the attacks that targeted oil fields in recent times. The Minister emphasized the necessity of uncovering the facts and identifying those responsible for the attacks, underlining the significance of safeguarding national energy security.
The statement further noted that both parties discussed the regional situation’s developments. They stressed the importance of shielding Iraq from external threats and enhancing its stability and sovereignty.
