CBI Denies Halting Dollar Transactions with Bank of Baghdad


Baghdad: The Central Bank of Iraq on Wednesday denied reports claiming that dollar transactions with the Bank of Baghdad had been suspended or that its foreign currency reinforcements for external transfers had been halted.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, in an official statement, the Bank affirmed that “the circulating news about suspending dollar dealings or halting foreign transfer reinforcements for the Bank of Baghdad is unfounded.” It added that the bank continues to operate normally and smoothly in accordance with the regulations and guidelines set by the Central Bank of Iraq.



The statement further noted that “the Bank of Baghdad is considered one of the reputable banks in Iraq and represents a significant part of the national banking sector.”
