Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its air defense systems successfully shot down 51 Ukrainian drones overnight across several Russian provinces.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry detailed in a statement that the interception occurred from 11:00 PM Moscow time on August 5 to 5:30 AM Moscow time on August 6. This operation underscores the ongoing tension and aerial engagements between Russia and Ukraine.
The Ministry’s statement elaborated on the geographical spread of the incidents, noting that 16 drones were intercepted over both the Rostov and Bryansk provinces. Additionally, 12 drones were destroyed over the Republic of Crimea, while 4 were intercepted over the Voronezh province. The remaining 3 drones were shot down over the Oryol province. This widespread activity highlights the strategic importance of these regions in the ongoing conflict.
