New york: The Ministry of Labor officially announced today at the United Nations headquarters that Iraq has joined the Global Alliance to End Violence against Children, marking it as the 46th country to become part of this international initiative. This move is recognized as a significant achievement for the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Social Affairs, Huda Sajjad, emphasized Iraq’s commitment to advancing children’s rights and addressing all forms of violence against them. Sajjad stated, “This accession confirms Iraq’s commitment to promoting children’s rights and combating all forms of violence against children.”
She further explained that Iraq’s participation in the international alliance was warmly received by the United Nations, highlighting it as a crucial step that projects a positive image of Iraq’s adherence to international standards in safeguarding children and ensuring their safety.
