Al-Samarrai and Al-Atwani Discuss Priorities for the Next Phase


Baghdad: The Head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai, received the elected Governor of Baghdad, Atwan Al-Atwani, in his office in Baghdad on Thursday, accompanied by a number of members of the provincial council. During the meeting, they discussed priorities for the next phase and ways to enhance cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities in the capital.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Azm Alliance indicated that Al-Samarrai congratulated Al-Atwani on his assumption of the position of governor of Baghdad. He stressed the importance of supporting the local government in implementing its service and development programs. Al-Samarrai also emphasized the need to adhere to the majority within the provincial council and preserve the political entitlements of the Azm Alliance, particularly the position of council president, to ensure balance and enhance confidence in the democratic process.



The meeting also addressed a number of vital issues impacting the lives of citizens. Discussions focused on improving the level of services in peripheral areas and enhancing fairness in the administrative and financial distribution between Baghdad’s districts and sub-districts. These measures aim to achieve justice and address development disparities.
