Gaza: Two Palestinian journalists were martyred, one of them succumbing to his wounds sustained in the Israeli shelling of Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip, and the other as a result of being shot by Israeli forces while in his tent west of Khan Yunis.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, medical sources reported that journalist Ahmed Abu Aziz, who worked for the local Quds Feed network and other media outlets, died of his wounds after the Israeli shelling of Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip. This resulted in the deaths of 20 Palestinians, including journalists, civil defense personnel, and a doctor.
Journalist Hassan Douhan, a correspondent for the local Al-Hayat Al-Jadida newspaper, was also martyred after being shot by the Israeli army while in his tent in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.
The Government Media Office stated that with the martyrdom of journalists Abu Aziz and Duhan, the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the beginning of the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 246.
The office expressed its condemnation of the Zionist entity’s systematic targeting of Palestinian journalists and called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all bodies concerned with the protection of journalists and media freedom worldwide to condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip.
During their aggression on Gaza, Zionist forces deliberately targeted journalists and media institutions, wounding nearly 400 journalists, arresting 40 others, and destroying the majority of the headquarters of local and international institutions operating in the Strip. They also forced all local radio stations to close due to displacement and the lack of essential journalistic resources, especially electricity and internet access.
