Baghdad: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed on Monday that confronting Israeli threats is a “global necessity,” calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities in ending the occupation’s practices against the Palestinian people. In a press statement bin Farhan said We are determined to confront the threat posed by the Israeli occupation stressing that “remaining silent over the crimes of the occupation only worsens the situation and undermines prospects for peace.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, bin Farhan emphasized the importance of taking all necessary measures to lift the blockade on Gaza. He reaffirmed that the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state is a legitimate right that cannot be compromised. The Saudi Foreign Minister further noted that the Kingdom firmly supports efforts aimed at establishing a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, warning that the persistence of impunity threatens international peace and security.
