Hamburg: New explosions erupted at the German port of Hamburg on Tuesday night, following a massive fire that had been extinguished earlier that day after burning for over 40 hours. A spokesperson for the Hamburg fire brigade reported that two containers caught fire and were extinguished from a safe distance using water hoses.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, emergency services took precautionary measures to prevent the fire from spreading by installing water curtains among the containers. In the early hours of the morning, approximately 30 firefighters were involved in the effort to remove embers and open the containers for further extinguishing.
Authorities are currently waiting for the fire control efforts to be completed before beginning an investigation into the causes of the fire. The incident has raised concerns about safety measures at the port and the potential impact on shipping operations.
