Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that Syria's stability is directly linked to Turkey's security, stressing that any step in this direction would contribute to regional peace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry emphasized that Turkey believes Syria's stability will be ensured through a centralized government that preserves the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty, while preventing separatist attempts. The statement added that the Syrian government continues to work on the basis of equal treatment for all ethnic and sectarian groups.

It was noted that joint training and advisory activities, under the memorandum of understanding signed between Ankara and Damascus on August 13, are ongoing to strengthen the capabilities of the Syrian Armed Forces. The ministry confirmed that Turkey will assist in establishing new training centers at Syria's request and will support any measures taken by Damascus to safeguard the country's unity and territorial integrity.
