Aleppo: A unit of the Syrian Arab Army thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of SDF members toward military points in the village of Tal Maaz in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. The infiltrators were lured into a well-planned ambush, resulting in casualties and damage among their ranks.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the source stated that other SDF members stationed in the village of Umm Tina and the city of Deir Hafer launched an attack on army positions in Tal Maaz with continuous shelling in an attempt to provide cover for the group that had been ambushed.

He explained that the clashes initially erupted with light weapons, before escalating after the sources of fire were responded to with heavy weapons, coinciding with the dispatch of military reinforcements to the area.

The source indicated that the security tension in the region comes in the context of increased activity by the SDF, noting that its members carried out raids yesterday morning in several neighborhoods in the city of Hasakah, accompanied by the imposition of a comprehensive curfew that paralyzed movement in and out of the city.

These developments come amid escalating tensions between the Syrian army and the SDF in several areas in the north and east of the country, amid public and security anticipation of the repercussions of the escalation.
