Abu dhabi: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, issued a decision appointing Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak as the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ Special Envoy for Nature. This decision affirms the UAE’s commitment to preserving nature, protecting biodiversity, and promoting environmental diplomacy at the regional and international levels.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, this appointment will contribute to providing recommendations related to aligning relevant foreign policies between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant national authorities. It aims to ensure the integration of environmental protection goals with the country’s strategic priorities, and support the development of a unified and effective national agenda in this field. The appointment emphasizes the importance of joint action to address accelerating natural challenges.
Razan Al Mubarak served as the United Nations Climate Change Champion during the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28), which the UAE hosted at Expo City Dubai in 2023, in addition to her numerous contributions to global nature conservation.
