Washington: Iraqi oil exports to the United States recorded a significant increase last week, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Sunday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the administration's weekly report indicated that U.S. crude oil imports from nine major countries averaged 5.859 million barrels per day, up 169,000 barrels per day from the previous week, which stood at 5.690 million barrels per day.

The statistics showed that Iraqi exports to the United States rose to 303,000 barrels per day, an increase of 166,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week's 137,000 barrels per day.

The report added that Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Colombia were the largest suppliers of crude oil to the U.S. market last week, while imports continued from Brazil, Nigeria, Ecuador, and Venezuela, with no imports recorded from Libya.
