Deputy Speaker of House Discusses Cooperation with UAE Ambassador


Baghdad: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah discussed enhancing joint cooperation with the UAE Ambassador. A statement from his media office stated that Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah received the UAE Ambassador to Iraq, Abdullah Matar Al Mazrouei, in his office in Baghdad on Sunday.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added that a number of international issues and files were discussed during the meeting, including the Gaza issue and unifying efforts to lift the siege. They also discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, and the exceptional circumstances facing the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of unifying visions and coordinating positions on regional issues.



The Vice President highlighted the role of the United Arab Emirates in addressing critical issues and its contribution to reconstruction, the implementation of service projects, and support for the investment sector in Iraq. For his part, the Ambassador noted the depth of historical relations between the two peoples, praising Iraq’s efforts to enhance security and stability in the region.
