Al-Lami Commends Olympic Committee Chief for Halting Legal Actions Against Journalists


Baghdad: The head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, praised the decision of the President of the Iraqi Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muften, to suspend all legal actions filed against a number of journalists.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a letter of thanks addressed to Muften, Al-Lami expressed his deep appreciation for Muften’s professional and responsible stance toward the Syndicate and Iraqi journalists. Al-Lami’s letter acknowledged the importance of halting the legal proceedings against several media professionals and highlighted this as a significant gesture towards the journalistic community.



He further emphasized the Syndicate’s commitment to upholding legal and professional ethical principles that guide journalistic work. Al-Lami also underscored the importance of respecting freedom of opinion and expression within the framework of responsible media discourse that serves the public interest.
