Fire Engulfs the Prime Minister’s Office Building in Kyiv

Baghdad: Ukrainian media reported a fire at the Prime Minister’s Office in the capital, Kyiv, amid reports of a drone hitting it. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on social media: “A fire broke out in a government building in the Pechersky District, likely as a result of a drone being shot down. Firefighters are working at the scene.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ukrainian MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak stated in a Telegram post that the upper floors of the building house the Prime Minister’s Office, the government meeting room, and a technical floor. Kyiv, Kryvyi Rog, and Kremenchug were subjected to intense airstrikes last night, causing fires and damage to facilities in some areas of the city. The bombing also hit a bridge over the Dnieper River, forcing it to close.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sverdenko confirmed in a post on Telegram that the roof and upper floors of the government headquarters building in Kyiv were damaged by a Russian strike on Sunday morning, and rescue teams are working to extinguish the fire.
