Basra: In the presence of UNICEF, the Basra local government engaged in discussions regarding the “Child’s Life” project, a significant initiative launched by the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. This project aims to address the pressing issues faced by children due to climate change and migration within Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs, Moeen Al-Hassan, emphasized the project’s focus on the consequences of climate changes in Iraq, particularly the migration of children and the challenges they face during relocation. He highlighted that the project’s goal is to gather those impacted by migration from southern governorates and present their recommendations through a workshop to the appropriate authorities.
Al-Hassan underscored the workshop’s crucial role in formulating recommendations for the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers. These recommendations will subsequently be forwarded to the Council of Ministers and relevant sectoral ministries to implement necessary measures aimed at finding suitable solutions for the affected children.
