Baghdad: Minister of Health, Salih Mahdi al-Hasnawi, discussed strengthening cooperation between the World Health Organization and Iraq today, Sunday, with the Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean, Hanan Balkhi.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Health stated that Al-Hasnawi received Balkhi in the capital, Baghdad. The visit is part of efforts to enhance cooperation between the World Health Organization and the Iraqi government.
The agenda for the visit includes high-level meetings with government officials and local and international community partners. Key topics of discussion are digital transformation in the health sector, climate and health challenges. The visit also involves field visits to health facilities, drug stores, and centers specializing in mental health and addiction. These activities aim to strengthen international partnerships and advance Iraq’s objectives for sustainable health reform.
