Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with Cypriot National Security Advisor Tassos Tzionis to explore the development of bilateral relations between Iraq and Cyprus. The discussion focused on potential cooperation in combating terrorism and drug-related issues, as well as the exchange of security and intelligence information.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting also highlighted Iraq’s unique experience in repatriating citizens from al-Hol camp, rehabilitating them, and facilitating their reintegration into society. Both parties emphasized that the ongoing situation in Gaza, characterized by violence, starvation, and displacement, is unacceptable and contravenes international law.
Al-Araji reiterated that the Iraqi government, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, is committed to fostering openness, cooperation, and the exchange of expertise with countries around the world. The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize reciprocal visits to further share expertise and information, serving the mutual interests of Iraq and Cyprus.
