Baghdad: The Baghdad Operations Command has refuted circulating reports on social media and various media outlets suggesting that a large-scale armed conflict broke out in the Al-Shu'la/Al-Khatib Agricultural area in Baghdad. Instead, the command clarified that the incident was a quarrel between two parties over a financial dispute, which escalated into gunfire.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the command issued a statement explaining that the altercation resulted in the death of one person and the injury of another. In response, a joint force from the Second Federal Police Division and Karkh Police was immediately deployed to the scene, where they secured the area.

The statement further detailed that preliminary investigations and rapid interrogation led to the identification and arrest of one of the perpetrators, with the murder weapon subsequently seized from his possession. The individual was handed over to the competent authorities following a lawsuit filed by the victims' families, ensuring the continuation of legal proceedings against him.

The Baghdad Operations Command reiterated its dedication to upholding the law and pursuing those responsible for criminal acts. It also urged media outlets and social networking platforms to ensure accuracy by obtaining information from official sources.
