Erdogan Compares Netanyahu to Hitler, Predicts Similar Fate

Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has drawn a controversial parallel between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Adolf Hitler, suggesting that Netanyahu’s approach mirrors that of the Nazi leader, and predicting a similar fate for the Israeli Prime Minister.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Erdogan made these remarks while speaking to reporters on a plane returning from Doha, where he attended an emergency Arab-Islamic summit. He stated, “Netanyahu and Hitler are ideologically related. Just as Hitler failed to anticipate the defeat that awaited him, Netanyahu will face the same fate.” Furthermore, Erdogan criticized the Israeli leadership, describing it as a “murderous network” with a fascist ideology.

Erdogan expressed hope for an expanded humanitarian front against Israel at the upcoming UN General Assembly meeting. He noted that recognition of the State of Palestine by Western countries could corner Israel diplomatically. Highlighting Israel’s increasing aggression towards Palestinians, Erdogan remarked that even those who previously ignored the issue are now recognizing the situation’s gravity.

The Turkish President emphasized the significance of the New York Declaration, adopted by 142 countries at the UN General Assembly, in shifting diplomatic perspectives on the Palestinian issue. He stated that the two-state solution, which Turkey supports, now reflects the common will of the majority of countries. This shift, according to Erdogan, is due to the global awareness of Israel’s actions, which he equated to genocide.

Erdogan also criticized Netanyahu’s rhetoric, accusing him of spreading “fabricated Zionist myths” and dismissing the idea of the “Promised Land” as legally invalid according to the UN Charter. He urged the Islamic world to respond wisely to Israeli actions against holy sites and to develop cooperative mechanisms for security and crisis management.

On domestic matters, Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to combating terrorism, emphasizing a comprehensive approach that includes security and democratic legitimacy. He also disclosed a meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, highlighting the challenges Syria faces from Israeli pressure and assuring continued Turkish support against such pressures.
