General Directorate of Intelligence and Security Arrests Drug Dealers Across Governorates


Baghdad: The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense arrested a number of drug dealers in several governorates. The Ministry stated in a statement: “As part of the ongoing security campaigns carried out by the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense to pursue organized crime gangs and drug dealers, its field detachments arrested a number of drug dealers and promoters in the governorates of Baghdad, Najaf, and Muthanna.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, various narcotic substances and drug paraphernalia were seized from the defendants, who were caught red-handed. Arrest warrants were issued against them in accordance with the provisions of Article (28) of the Narcotics Law. They are among the directorate’s targets, and legal action has been taken against them.
