Baghdad: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to strengthen community and local security, highlighting the vital role of community police in public awareness and fostering partnership with society.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shammari visited the headquarters of the Community Police Directorate on Thursday, where he was received by Deputy Minister for Police Affairs, Lt. Gen. Hadi Razij Kassar, the director of the Community Police, and several officers.

The visit included an extensive meeting with department and division heads to review workflow, discuss the directorate’s needs, and address key challenges faced by its staff in delivering continuous awareness and educational programs to citizens.

The minister issued several directives aimed at improving performance and enhancing both security and social services, emphasizing the need for innovative initiatives and greater cooperation with schools to launch awareness campaigns against negative practices and behaviors.
