Baghdad: Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, emphasized the critical significance of Wadi Hawran and the Anbar Desert for Iraq's security and stability during a field visit.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sudani's media office released a statement detailing his recent visit to these strategic regions, accompanied by top military officials including the Minister of Defense, Chief of Staff of the Army, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations. The visit was part of operations under the Anbar and Al-Jazeera Commands.

The statement described al-Sudani's inspection of military units both on the ground and in the air across various areas, such as Wadi Houran, Al-Sakkar, Al-Husayniyat, Al-Hazimi, Al-Kara, and Akkaz. He received comprehensive briefings from commanders about the progress of building defensive lines in Wadi Houran and ongoing military operations under the current government.

Additionally, the visit covered inspections of hills and fortified points within the 5th and 7th Army Divisions, including the 20th Brigade's headquarters of the 5th Division in the Anbar Operations Command. Al-Sudani also surveyed the border point separating the Anbar Operations Command and Al-Jazeera Command, managed by the 2nd Regiment of the 78th Brigade of the 7th Division.

During his interactions with soldiers stationed at the defensive lines, al-Sudani reviewed their conditions and underscored the necessity of fulfilling their operational requirements to ensure optimal performance. He reiterated the strategic and economic importance of the region for Iraq's overall security and stability.

The Prime Minister's tour also featured an aerial inspection of the Akkas field, an essential site for oil and gas production, underscoring its role as a promising natural gas resource.
