Trade Minister and Ethiopian Ambassador Explore Opportunities for Ethiopian Goods in Iraqi Market


Baghdad: Minister of Trade Atheer Dawood Al-Ghurairi engaged in discussions with Ethiopia’s non-resident Ambassador to Iraq, Saeed Mohamed Jibril, focusing on strategies to enhance economic cooperation and explore the entry of Ethiopian products into the Iraqi market.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Ghurairi welcomed Ambassador Jibril and his delegation at his Baghdad office. The meeting centered on activating joint cooperation mechanisms and bolstering bilateral relations. Discussions included opportunities for Ethiopian companies to partake in the Baghdad International Fair and organize specialized exhibitions to promote Ethiopian goods.



The dialogue also explored the potential signing of a bilateral economic and trade agreement and the establishment of joint committees to foster collaboration benefiting both nations. Al-Ghurairi emphasized the creation of practical plans, reaffirming the Ministry’s support for Ethiopian partnerships and its readiness to provide necessary facilitation.



Ambassador Jibril acknowledged the Ministry’s efforts and expressed Ethiopia’s eagerness to strengthen economic and trade ties with Iraq across various sectors.
