Baghdad: Baghdad Operations Command forces have arrested a number of suspects and seized unlicensed weapons and ammunition on the Karkh and Rusafa sides.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Command issued a statement detailing the operations conducted by the formations of the Operations Command in the 1st, 2nd, and 5th Federal Police divisions. These operations were supported by the Baghdad Karkh and Rusafa Police Commands, along with their attached intelligence agencies.
The operations involved carrying out search and inspection duties and setting up temporary ‘sudden’ checkpoints. These efforts led to the arrest of several suspects under various legal articles, including the possession of unlicensed weapons. Additionally, 22 foreign nationals were detained for violating the terms and conditions of the Residence and Nationality Department. The operations resulted in the seizure of unlicensed weapons and ammunition in areas including Albu Aitha/Arab Jabour, Al-Talabiya, and several locations east of the capital on both the Karkh and Rusafa sides.
