Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has directed the renaming of Sulaimaniyah International Airport to Jalal Talabani International Airport. This decision follows a request submitted by the Jalal Talabani Foundation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister's Media Office indicated that the decision honors the late president's historic role and his long struggle against the dictatorial regime.
