Baghdad: The National Intelligence Service announced the successful liberation of five Iraqi citizens who had been kidnapped in a neighboring country. The operation was conducted against an international gang comprised of members from various nationalities.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the kidnappers had initially deceived the victims by promising to facilitate their travel to Europe. Instead, the victims were lured to a neighboring country, where they were held captive. The gang then demanded ransom from the families of the kidnapped individuals. After extensive intelligence work, the National Intelligence Service, in collaboration with relevant authorities in the neighboring country, managed to free all the kidnapped individuals.
The National Intelligence Service has issued a warning to all citizens about the risks of falling victim to luring operations orchestrated by international human trafficking and smuggling gangs. These operations often result in victims being trapped, blackmailed, and having their lives threatened.
