Iraq and Japan Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation and Coordination in International Forums


Baghdad: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khalid Saeed, engaged in discussions with the Japanese Ambassador to Baghdad, Akira Endo, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordinating positions in international forums.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated that both parties reviewed the history and development of relations between Iraq and Japan. They emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across various fields to serve their mutual interests. The discussions also highlighted the need for continued mutual support in nominations for membership in international organizations and coordinated diplomatic efforts within international bodies, aimed at strengthening both countries’ positions and deepening their partnership.



At the conclusion of the meeting, Undersecretary Shorsh Khalid Saeed expressed Iraq’s appreciation for Japan’s supportive stance and its eagerness to maintain cooperation across all areas. Ambassador Akira Endo reiterated Japan’s commitment to developing bilateral relations in a manner that benefits the interests and aspirations of the two friendly nations.
