Basra: Basra Provincial Council Chairman Khalaf Lafta Al-Badran discussed with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, on Thursday, joint issues and enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the Turkish Ambassador expressed the importance of addressing mutual concerns, particularly the water crisis affecting the region. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between Iraq and Turkey to develop effective solutions.
The Ambassador further highlighted discussions on the development path, noting the involvement of the Turkish Deputy Minister of Development in the Iraqi Business Summit at the Grand Faw Port. This engagement was aimed at understanding the significance of the port project and exploring opportunities for Turkish involvement.
Al-Badran underscored the urgency of tackling the water crisis in Basra, seeking viable solutions through cooperation with Turkey. He also recognized the strategic development road as a crucial component of sustainable economic growth in Iraq and the region. Al-Badran encouraged Turkish companies to leverage their expertise and resources to contribute to this vital initiative.
