Ankara: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan affirmed that Ankara does not view Syria's security as separate from Turkey's. This came in a post on the Turkish "In Social" platform, following his participation in Turkish-Syrian talks hosted by Ankara. The talks were attended by Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Intelligence Director Ibrahim Kalin, along with Fidan from the Turkish side. The talks were attended from the Syrian side by Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and Intelligence Director Hussein al-Salama.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Fidan emphasized in his post that they have continued to maintain comprehensive contacts with Syria at all levels and in various fields since the Syrian people gained their freedom. The Turkish Foreign Minister said, "We agree with our Syrian brothers on the need to enhance close coordination and cooperation to protect and develop Syria's gains." He noted that the talks they held in Ankara today provided an opportunity to address the strategic dimensions of relations between the two countries from all aspects.

He explained that the two sides discussed possible joint steps to ensure Syria's complete security while preserving its territorial integrity, and comprehensively reviewed concrete plans in this regard. He stated that the Syrian government possesses the necessary resolve and determination to overcome the difficult challenges it faces. Fidan added, "We do not view Syria's security as separate from Turkey's security, and we will continue to provide all forms of support to our Syrian brothers on this path."
